CITIZEN TV’S “Mother In Law”- A huge hit.

Local TV programmes are definitely getting better by the day. Let me highlight Citizen TV’s “Mother In Law” which airs on Sundays at 7:30 pm. Now this is one of those shows that make you want to say “Najivunia kuwa mkenya”, it has reached the standards we’ve all been yearning for.

The actors are seasoned and very comfortable with their roles while the characters they play turn the 30-minute episodes into chunks of televised bliss…

The show offers a good insight into the complexity of extended family life.
The conflict between Charity (the mother-in-law) and her daughter-in-law Alison clearly portrays the volatile and often unbearable relationship between in-laws.
Jack and Charlie are two brothers constantly at war with each other, jack being the successful & ambitious businessman. Charlie on the other hand is a drunkard and an underachiever, the proverbial black sheep of the family.
Swapo (a real Adonis) and Mike’s roles are great and so is Ras Mundu’s; the conversations the three have are quite exciting.
Let me not forget the sisters, Angie and Tina. These are examples of feminine perfection, a sight for sore eyes. The skimpy dressing and the chick-fight they had this Sunday is what guys live for…

Kenyan TV programmes are “coming to birth” as Majorie Oludhe Macgoye would tastefully put it. At this rate, we will conquer Nollywood by the next decade- I kid you not!

Congratulations to the production team and the cast of Mother In Law, kukdos for job well done…
